National Bulk Equipment Announces Engineered-to-Application Bulk Material Processing and Packaging Project Status

National Bulk Equipment, Inc, based in Holland, MI, announces the completion of a new bulk material discharging project. They have designed, engineered, installed, and commissioned this bulk material processing and packaging system for a fullsteam application that necessitates the discharge, screening, decontamination, and bulk packaging of several extreme-performance and specialty-engineered materials.
The raw materials come in bulk bins and bulk bags of various weights and sizes. Because of certain material infeed interfaces of downstream production equipment, and specified formulations for the end-product, the system has to simultaneously fill up drums, bulk bags, and bulk storage totes. The spout interface of the NBE discharge station allows the operator to easily reach the bag spout and connect it to the system, and then enclose the bag spout before initiating material flow. The NBE bulk bag dischargers shown in these systems have been designed for critical applications and rigorous duty. For a bulk bin, a flex connection spout from the bottom of the bin serves the same function as the bag spout.
Midstream operations of this bulk material processing project, prepare the bulk materials to make sure the characteristics of the completed, bulk-packaged product comply with the purity and size specs needed for downstream production. Midstream material preparation functions include sizing the materials to micron-level specifications, separating the materials according to size, and magnetic decontamination of the sized and separated materials. The midstream preparations required for the raw material determine which of the two NBE bulk material processing and packaging systems will be used for the input. The downstream processes of the bulk material packaging project use NBE engineered-to-application bulk container filling systems. Each of these systems has been designed to enable easy changeover for filling bulk bags, drums, or bulk totes. The filled container can weigh from 600 to 4,000 pounds, depending on the processing requirements. The fillhead for each NBE bulk container filling system has a dust-tight interface to the container being filled, whether the interconnect is a drum cover, a tote cover flange, or a bulk bag spout. Material dusting that may happen within the fillhead is routed away within the system and the material is recovered using a central dust collection unit.
This NBE engineered-to-application fullstream project enabled this bulk processing and packaging enterprise to move beyond the limitations of build-to-order and engineer-to-order machines by taking advantage of NBE engineered-to-application project delivery to increase process yield and improve downstream throughput efficiency.
