“For 40 years, Spartan Podiatry has been laser-focused on providing the highest level of customer service and podiatric care to help patients achieve their wellness goals and improve their quality of life,” the clinic says. “Spartan Podiatry’s guiding principle is to help our patients feel better as soon as possible using a variety of treatments, therapies, and procedures-leaving surgery as a last option. We also understand the importance of bringing our patients into the wellness process, including prevention, treatment and healing. We take the time to educate, inform and consult with our patients so they can take care of their bodies, make informed decisions about treatment and heal as quickly as possible. Our caring and experienced physicians are experts in ankle injuries, diabetic foot care, ulcers, orthotics, wart treatments, bunions, hammertoes and more. We also specialize in sports medicine, rearfoot and ankle reconstructions, as well as charcot reconstructions.”

Three highly qualified and experienced doctors use their expertise to provide high-end podiatry services at Spartan. Dr. Angela Robin, DPM, for instance, is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from Madonna University in Livonia. She earned her Doctorate in podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, and later continued her graduate training at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. She received training in a variety of areas including diabetic limb salvage, wound care and ankle surgeries, being mentored by top vascular, general and plastic surgeons. She has treated almost every sort of podiatric concern imaginable over the years and now offers her high-end services to her Spartan Podiatry patients.

Dr. Matthew Hang is the second member of the three doctor team at Spartan Podiatry. He is a Michigan native who studied Human Biology at Michigan State University before going on to do a doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at Kent State University. He completed his residency at the Dayton VA medical center in 2021, and during this residency, he learned to deal with a wide variety of foot problems — from the most common, everyday issues to the most unheard.

The third doctor at Spartan Podiatry is Dr. Rene Juridico, a Detroit native who completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University. He attended Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned his medical degree before completing a three-year surgical residency in Baltimore, Maryland. It was here that he trained with world renowned foot and ankle surgeons with specialties in limb deformity correction and limb salvage in the diabetic population. He is a recent addition to the Spartan Podiatry team, and he is excited to help people achieve better foot health and treat any issues they might have. “The feet serve as the foundation of the body,” says the clinic. “When pain is experienced, it’s therefore extremely important to identify early on what and where the issue is. The causes of foot pain vary greatly, including but not limited to diseases, deformities, improper footwear and injuries pertaining to the foot region. Those who experience foot pain may also notice redness, swelling, soreness, bruising or numbness present at the injured area. When these symptoms occur, it’s important to also identify where the pain experienced is located, as there are a number of foot complications that could be at the root of the problem. For example, different foot conditions can affect different areas such as the heel, ball of the foot, foot arch, the toes or ankles, to name a few.”
